The Jaipur police commissionerate in cooperation with UNICEF has opened the first of it’s kind centre, Sneha-Angan, in the premises of the police station. This is to provide necessary help to children coming in contact with police under one roof, including legal aid and shelter. This will be the one-stop crisis management centre for children and the office of the special juvenile police unit.
Child beggars and victims of trafficking are also brought to Sneha Angan, where a team of dedicated counsellors and teachers work towards providing legal, shelter, protection, security, health and other facilities towards the children.
Few of these children are also encouraged to attend a nearby Anganwaadi centre where one sees much joy, colour and enthusiasm as a school celebrates Christmas.
Teachers plan activities and play active roles in the children’s lives and ensure parents’ participation in their progress.
